Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma or GED with five plus years of experience in program and large-scale event management, urban recreation programming, safety/emergency response, communications, marketing, or related field including supervisory experience
- Demonstrated experience in planning and executing public and private events
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in budget management
- Ability to collaborate across departments and with community stakeholders
- Skilled in using MS Office including Excel and presentation software
Job Duties
- Develop and implement long-term strategies for special events that align with the City’s mission
- Establish and administer policies and procedures for the Special Event Permit process
- Oversee the development and execution of a diverse range of events
- Coordinate logistics, manage vendor relationships, and marketing efforts
- Evaluate and facilitate procurement of equipment, supplies, and capital needs
- Prepare and manage budgets for special events and programming
- Supervise and guide activities of the Guest Services Specialist and provide team training and mentorship
