Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of experience in event planning preferably in nonprofit fundraising
- Proven budget management skills
- Successful evaluation of a background check
- Availability for evening and weekend hours
- Reliable transportation for off-site meetings
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods during events
- Flexibility with schedule to accommodate organizational needs
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in event planning preferably within nonprofit fundraising
- Proven success managing budgets, vendors, and sponsorship relationships
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- familiarity with donor databases and event management software preferred
- Creative problem solver able to adapt quickly and stay calm under pressure
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods during events
Job Duties
- Plan, organize, and manage all aspects of special events including the annual Gala, donor and volunteer appreciation events, and fundraising initiatives
- Develop event timelines, budgets, and work plans to ensure goals are achieved on time and within budget
- Oversee vendor selection, contracts, and logistics including venue, catering, decor, entertainment, and AV
- Collaborate with development team to secure corporate sponsorships, in-kind donations, and event revenue
- Assist in creating sponsorship proposals, benefit packages, and follow-up reports
- Partner with marketing and communications teams to develop event branding, invitations, and digital campaigns
- Liaise with and recruit volunteers including League, Friends, and Picnic with the Pops volunteers
- Provide clear guidance, roles, and on-site leadership for volunteers and staff during events
