Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum 7 years of sales and/or fundraising experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Event planning experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted, squatting, pushing or pulling heavy weights, manual dexterity required
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods and adapt to irregular hours
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Office and fundraising database systems like Salesforce
- Ability to work effectively with diverse audiences and in a team
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required
- Frequent travel within Illinois region
- Combination of education and experience must meet minimum requirements
- Must comply with physical demands and operational flexibility
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Advanced degree highly desirable
- Minimum 7 years of sales and/or fundraising experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Event planning experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Office and fundraising database systems such as Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce
- Ability to relate well with multiple constituencies and work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to travel frequently within the Illinois region
Job Duties
- Plan and execute four major fundraising events across the Illinois region raising over $2 million in revenue
- Collaborate with senior paid and volunteer leadership to secure event sponsorships through prospect lists, proposals, stewardship reports, and solicitation materials
- Provide support and counsel to departmental staff and volunteer leadership on special events information, serving as staff advisor for all fundraising event committees
- Supervise two special events staff providing programming, logistical, and administrative support
- Manage event timelines, budgets, committees, sponsorship packages, collateral, logistics, and day-of execution to ensure fundraising goals are met
- Develop and execute regional donor qualification strategies to retain and grow donor contributions
- Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, developing donor management plans and securing gifts at the $5,000 level or higher
- Update donor records in Salesforce and carry out additional assignments to support the American Red Cross mission
