Job Requirements

- Valid Texas Class C driver’s license with an insurable record

Job Duties
- Supervises and coordinates supplies, records, reports, budgets, schedules, farmers market, and special events at various program sites
- Provide expertise in planning and executing events, being a good steward of resources, reducing efficiency lapses, and ensuring events are successful and memorable
- Works directly with local schools, civic groups, participants, and the public
- Responds to public inquiries about recreation, special events, City programs, farmers market, and seasonal programs through telephone, correspondence, public appearances, and social media
- Responsible for registration, coordination, and promotion for classes, special events, farmers market, seasonal programs, and other activities
- Interprets and administers City rules and regulations
- Recruits, hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises part time employees, student interns, and volunteers
- Provides a variety of miscellaneous duties such as answering phones, typing, writing, running errands, purchasing and transporting supplies, attending City meetings, taking money, and other duties as required
- Markets and promotes programs and services through printed materials, press releases, public speaking, and social media
- Facilitates partnerships to enhance sponsorship opportunities
- Reports on maintenance issues, injuries, and daily activities to the Parks and Recreation Director
- Uses equipment such as trucks, hand tools, office equipment, and cleaning supplies
- Performs physical activities including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, reaching, stretching, and sitting
- Organizes multiple events and programs simultaneously
- Quickly adapts to varying levels of activity and noise with prioritization and multitasking
- Ensures attendance and professional growth through onsite, online, and offsite training
- Exhibits the City of Harker Heights' core values
