Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2 to 3 years experience in event, nonprofit communications or marketing
  • Proficiency in Windows based computer programs
  • Willingness to work beyond normal working hours when necessary
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Strong communication and attention to detail
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including lifting 25-50 lbs
  • Legal right to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
  • 2 to 3 years related event, nonprofit communications or marketing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere
  • Ability to manage a flexible schedule
  • Proficiency in Windows based computer programs
  • Experience with desktop publishing, InDesign, and Photoshop preferred
  • Commitment to cultural competence

Job Duties

  • Serve as the internal key staff person on Food Bank fundraising, marketing, and cultivation events including Taste of the Browns and Market at the Food Bank
  • Develop and implement annual event plan and budget with assistance from the director of Communications and Special Events
  • Oversee all details for each event including logistics, budget, and coordination ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Serve as staff liaison with committees to secure restaurant participation and in-kind sponsors and develop donor relationships
  • Manage event-day scheduling and logistics
  • Handle post-event wrap-up including recognition of all supporters, volunteers, and restaurant participants
  • Support logistics and collaborate on Harvest for Hunger events, Annual Meeting, major donor events, and others as assigned
