Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, event management, tourism, public relations, recreation administration or related field
- Four years experience in related field including one year supervisory experience
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environment
- Experience with budget and contract management

Job Duties
- Provide vision and leadership for the city's special events program
- Evaluate existing processes, events, and workflows and recommend new opportunities
- Review current and future requirements and develop short- and long-range plans
- Develop, implement, and monitor goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the division
- Stay abreast of trends in marketing, entertainment, music, and community interests
- Oversee division recruitment, hiring, and training
- Conduct regular team evaluations
- Prioritize work activities and ensure proper resources for team members
- Foster a positive team culture emphasizing collaboration and accountability
- Develop and monitor expenditures for federal, state, and local funds
- Oversee payment acceptance and collection following financial procedures
- Prepare and recommend major purchases and budget requests
- Manage budgets for events and sponsorships
- Monitor contracts and contractors for compliance
- Prepare and review reports and manuals to monitor performance
- Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators
- Track and analyze event performance metrics to guide planning
- Present performance outcomes to leadership and stakeholders
- Manage asset and inventory and ensure maintenance of resources
- Review safety procedures and protocols and ensure compliance
- Coordinate with city departments to ensure logistics and safety readiness
- Work with Police, Fire, and Emergency Management for safety protocols
- Leverage technology to track registrations, attendance, and financial data
- Respond to complaints from residents and businesses
- Build and maintain relationships with residents, businesses, sponsors, and partners
- Maintain knowledge of permit processes, ordinances, and policies
- Organize and conduct event meetings
- Partner with marketing division to promote programs
- Participate in professional organizations and networking
