Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience or training
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of management principles and best practices
  • Experience in event management and public relations
  • Understanding or ability to quickly learn university policies and infrastructure
  • Proven program management skills including personnel and budget oversight
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Political acumen and sound decision-making capabilities
  • Leadership skills with experience in staff supervision and development
  • Knowledge of parking and transportation operations and regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience or training
  • Strong knowledge of management principles, policies, concepts, and best practices
  • Extensive experience in event management and production
  • Strong knowledge of campus vision, mission, goals, programs, policies, and infrastructure or ability to learn quickly
  • Proven skills in program management including staff and budget administration
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to foster collaboration and maintain positive relationships
  • Strong political acumen with sound judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective leadership and management abilities including mentoring and motivating staff
  • Thorough understanding of parking and transportation space inventory, regulations, and operational cycles

Job Duties

  • Provide comprehensive direction and oversight for campus events, ADA Loop transportation program, and parking attendant program
  • Confer with broad-based constituencies on event policies, master schedules, and strategic planning
  • Support diverse events including complex small events and large campuswide events through subordinates
  • Select, train, lead, direct, mentor, evaluate, and take corrective action with subordinate staff
  • Ensure scheduling and access to parking and transportation for events to meet client and institutional needs
  • Serve as a high-level event consultant to senior management as needed
  • Manage special events budget and ensure timely billing and financial reconciliation
