Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Some experience in event coordination, recreation, or boating programs preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Some experience in event coordination, recreation, or boating programs preferred
  • Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills
  • Valid Indiana Driver's License preferred
  • Indiana DNR Safe Boating Education Certification preferred
  • First Aid and CPR Certification (American Heart Association within two weeks of hire) preferred
  • Proficient in kayaking, canoeing, or other non-powered boats
  • Experience operating motorized boats safely
  • Familiarity with Riverfront Fort Wayne programs, ecology, and local history
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Job Duties

  • Plan, set up, and lead events and programs including walking tours, field trips, and on-water activities
  • Assist with boating operations including boat preparation, passenger instruction, and safety supervision
  • Recruit, schedule, train, and supervise volunteers and instructors as needed
  • Maintain inventory, prepare reports, collect fees, and manage program resources
  • Engage participants with professional, informative, and enthusiastic guidance
  • Assist with supervising instructors and volunteers during programs and events
