Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver's license in good standing with no major violations in past 3 years
  • Reliable vehicle
  • Physical ability to assist onsite with lifting, hauling, setting up, standing for long periods and walking long distances
  • Ability to work under stress from deadlines, public contact and changing priorities
  • Capacity to organize and manage multiple tasks

  • Experience with large special events
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate and learn new tasks and digital platforms
  • Knowledge of basic marketing strategies
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with City employees and the general public

Job Duties

  • Assist with planning and coordination of special events such as Summer Concerts in the Park, Fourth of July, Labor Day and Fall Festival
  • Take a leading role in organizing the annual Fall Festival on Labor Day
  • Manage vendor relationships including selection, payments, licensing, communication, supplies and onsite event needs
  • Actively assist onsite at large community events including set-up and tear-down
  • Collaborate on event vision and design
  • Respond to rental inquiries for Arts Center and Steinbaugh Pavilion and process rental requests and payments
  • Facilitate rental process including venue tours and instructions
  • Manage AlarmLock access codes for rentals and staff
  • Handle administrative tasks related to events and public art such as check requests and inventory
  • Keep Arts & Events storage organized and accessible
  • Conduct post-event vendor and guest surveys
  • Perform other duties as assigned
