Job Requirements
- high school diploma required
- prefer 1-3 years of successful experience in event planning
- must be prepared to drive a golf cart occasionally
- able to work outside in all seasons
- able to do a large amount of walking, standing, lifting, and carrying of event materials, part-time availability including some weekends, holidays and evenings
- able to work 24 hours per week on Wednesday, Saturday and a flexible third day
- excellent communication and organizational skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma required
- bachelor’s degree or a student working towards a degree in event management, marketing, communications or related field is desired
- prefer 1-3 years of successful experience in event planning
- marketing experience preferred
- must be prepared to drive a golf cart, occasionally work outside in all seasons, do a large amount of walking, standing, lifting, and carrying of event materials
Job Duties
- work with internal and external committees and volunteers
- attend zoo events as event support or event lead
- assist special events team on events to build zoo attendance and revenue
- work independently and as part of a team to create exceptional guest experiences
- work most events on calendar and take direction from event lead on those events where this position is not event lead
- assist with researching new event ideas or enhancing current events
- complete event team notes as applicable
- provide reports in a timely manner on attendance, revenue, expenses and marketing efforts for each event
