Job Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- relevant experience in event coordination or similar role
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
- valid driver's license
- excellent organizational skills
- ability to lift and move event equipment
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in event management, recreation, public administration, or related field preferred
- previous experience in event planning and coordination
- strong organizational and multitasking skills
- excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- proficiency with social media and marketing tools
- ability to manage budgets
- leadership and supervisory experience
- community engagement skills
Job Duties
- Plan and coordinate various department-hosted events and programs
- manage event tasks including timelines, vendor booking, staffing coordination, and event setup and teardown
- prepare and manage event budgets
- collaborate on sponsor acquisition, fulfillment, and activation
- promote the recreation division through marketing material development and social media
- represent the department at community activities
- supervise and direct assigned personnel
