Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • relevant experience in event coordination or similar role
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
  • valid driver's license
  • excellent organizational skills
  • ability to lift and move event equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in event management, recreation, public administration, or related field preferred
  • previous experience in event planning and coordination
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • proficiency with social media and marketing tools
  • ability to manage budgets
  • leadership and supervisory experience
  • community engagement skills

Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate various department-hosted events and programs
  • manage event tasks including timelines, vendor booking, staffing coordination, and event setup and teardown
  • prepare and manage event budgets
  • collaborate on sponsor acquisition, fulfillment, and activation
  • promote the recreation division through marketing material development and social media
  • represent the department at community activities
  • supervise and direct assigned personnel
