Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in hospitality, event management, public relations, recreation administration or related field
  • Minimum two years of experience planning and implementing events or related activities
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to use city systems such as RecTrac/WebTrac, Open Counter, OpenGov, and Dayforce
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent customer service abilities

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in hospitality, event management, public relations, recreation administration or related field
  • Experience in municipal government or county-level event operations preferred
  • Minimum of two years of experience developing and implementing events or programs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in data management and city systems such as RecTrac/WebTrac and OpenGov
  • Ability to manage budgets and handle purchasing processes
  • Valid driver's license
  • Certified Festival and Event Associate (CFEA) certificate preferred

Job Duties

  • Coordinates and implements diversified events and activities city-wide
  • Develops promotional materials with the Marketing and Digital Media division
  • Manages daily logistics and operations of city events
  • Follows up and supports volunteers, vendors, and sponsors
  • Communicates event details and updates to staff and stakeholders
  • Administers event-related data using city systems such as RecTrac/WebTrac and OpenGov
  • Represents the city in meetings and community engagements
  • Provides excellent customer service and responds to citizen inquiries
  • Monitors and manages the special events budget
  • Prepares purchase orders and oversees event purchasing
  • Identifies and secures event sponsorships
  • Cultivates and maintains sponsor relationships and ensures fulfillment of agreements
  • Develops sponsorship proposals and reports
  • Conducts post-event sponsor follow-up
  • Adheres to city policies and safety guidelines
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
