Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • six months of customer service experience
  • equivalent combination of education and experience that meets job duties
  • ability to work in office and field environments
  • ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
  • ability to sit for extended periods
  • willingness to perform light physical tasks including event setup and cleanup

Job Duties

  • Act as the primary point of contact with City departments and the Mayor's Office when organizing events
  • Act as the primary liaison between the City, vendors, and participants
  • Participate in and contribute to communications strategies including approvals from the Mayor’s Office
  • Collaborate with external organizations and individuals for event planning when appointed
  • Work with the Finance Department to manage event budgets and vendor payments
  • Coordinate with the Law Department to prepare vendor contracts
  • Facilitate sponsorship discussions with external partners alongside the Mayor’s Office
  • Oversee event setup and breakdown with Parks and Properties staff
  • Be present onsite for event preparation and during events
  • Monitor event sites for cleanliness, safety, and maintenance
  • Coordinate internal and external support services for park and program operations
  • Assist with light maintenance duties such as debris removal and trash disposal post-events
  • Identify and recommend alternative funding sources including sponsorships and grants
  • Prepare funding applications and status reports as needed
  • Supervise relevant staff before, during, and after events
