Job Description

The University of Hawai'i Foundation, established in 1955, serves as the central fundraising organization for the University of Hawai'i System. As a private, institutionally related corporation and a designated 501(c)(3) organization by the Internal Revenue Service, the Foundation plays a pivotal role in supporting the university through philanthropic efforts. It is the sole provider of fundraising and alumni services for the UH System, managing more than 7,000 gift accounts dedicated to benefiting the university and its students. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum one year experience in non-profit or related fields preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass background check including driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
  • Proficient in use of office equipment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Willingness to travel interisland and nationally
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of one year progressive experience in non-profit organizations preferred
  • Experience in alumni, development, education, or membership settings preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • Proficiency in using office and database software
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Provide fundraising event planning, coordination and execution support
  • Assist with special events administrative support including data requests and guest list generation
  • Staff events and initiate follow-up communication
  • Serve as liaison between Athletics Development team, Athletics Department, coaching staff, vendors and key constituents
  • Maintain and organize calendar of fundraising events
  • Update Foundation database and manage contact reports
  • Organize and facilitate meetings including scheduling and note-taking
  • Draft and edit written communications such as briefing materials, proposals, and correspondence
  • Assist with event fiscal support including processing expenses and monitoring invoices
  • Work with sensitive information to ensure adherence to decision-making protocols
  • Assist in improving internal event processes and inter-department relationships
  • Perform special projects as assigned
