Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
  • OR two-year degree from accredited university in hospitality or related major
  • One year experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or comparable professional area
  • Ability to lead and manage a team
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in relevant software systems
  • Ability to work full time in seasonal position
  • Commitment to guest satisfaction
  • Ability to handle guest complaints effectively

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist in planning and execution of meetings and special events
  • Assist in implementation of departmental strategies
  • Promote and assist in execution of all property events
  • Lead the team to meet and exceed daily and weekly goals including sales, attendance, guest satisfaction, safety
  • Research and analyze new products, pricing and services of competition
  • Assist in apprising property of all groups impacting operations
  • Assist in execution of event management strategy aligned with company’s business strategy
  • Conduct daily walk-through of banquet floor to promote client satisfaction and quality standards
  • Learn, operate and train employees on event management software systems
  • Assist in developing relationships with outside vendors and establishing prices and service agreements
  • Create opportunities to upsell during event planning
  • Assist in managing department controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
  • Manage merchandise inventory and enhance displays to increase sales
  • Create an atmosphere that meets or exceeds guest expectations
  • Set positive example for guest relations
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
  • Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service
  • Verify employees understand expectations and parameters
  • Strive to improve service performance
  • Emphasize guest satisfaction during departmental meetings
  • Interview, select and train employees
  • Appraise employees’ productivity and efficiency for promotions or changes
  • Provide safety and security for employees and property
  • Monitor employee attendance and records
