Job Requirements

  • A Kentucky Horse Racing Commission license is required for all track workers and is provided upon hire
  • A Food Handler’s Certificate is required for all food and beverage track workers
  • Responsible alcohol service certification is required (or must be obtained upon hire)

Job Qualifications

  • One to two years of bartending or banquet bar experience preferred
  • Knowledge of basic cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong guest service and communication skills
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs or more
  • Ability to reach, bend, lift, and carry items as needed
  • Availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and race meet schedules

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages during special events and race meets
  • Provide attentive, professional bar service while maintaining efficient service flow
  • Set up, stock, and maintain bar areas, including glassware, garnishes, and supplies
  • Follow standardized recipes and portioning guidelines as required
  • Accurately operate the Micros POS system for beverage orders (training provided)
  • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow responsible alcohol service guidelines
  • Communicate with servers, managers, and support staff regarding timing and guest needs
  • Assist with bar setup, service flow, and breakdown after events
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and a professional appearance at all times
