Job Requirements
- A Kentucky Horse Racing Commission license is required for all track workers and is provided upon hire
- A Food Handler’s Certificate is required for all food and beverage track workers
- Responsible alcohol service certification is required (or must be obtained upon hire)
Job Qualifications
- One to two years of bartending or banquet bar experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong guest service and communication skills
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs or more
- Ability to reach, bend, lift, and carry items as needed
- Availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and race meet schedules
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages during special events and race meets
- Provide attentive, professional bar service while maintaining efficient service flow
- Set up, stock, and maintain bar areas, including glassware, garnishes, and supplies
- Follow standardized recipes and portioning guidelines as required
- Accurately operate the Micros POS system for beverage orders (training provided)
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow responsible alcohol service guidelines
- Communicate with servers, managers, and support staff regarding timing and guest needs
- Assist with bar setup, service flow, and breakdown after events
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and a professional appearance at all times
