Job Requirements

  • knowledge of concepts and principles of effective event planning and production and public relations
  • organizational skills to effectively coordinate and track multiple details
  • written and interpersonal communications skills including tact and political acumen
  • ability to complete simple tasks with established deadlines and attention to detail
  • ability to use computers and relevant software
  • ability to work in diverse groups including students, staff, faculty, public, production personnel, and artists
  • ability to work professionally under pressure and meet deadlines ensuring excellent customer service
  • ability to prioritize projects and solve problems strategically
  • ability to mitigate potential negative effects when problems are identified
  • ability to work independently and as a team member
  • ability to learn and correctly interpret UCIAA membership policies
  • bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience or training
  • 1-2 years experience in administration or events
  • must be able to work nights and weekends for events
  • legal right to work in the United States
  • background check and live scan
  • compliance with vaccination and tobacco policies

  • ability to learn and interpret policies, procedures, pricing, and benefits regarding UCIAA membership

Job Duties

  • assist in planning and organizing events and functions
  • manage front desk duties directly or through supervision of student staff
  • serve as primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies
  • perform administrative, staff support, data reporting, and planning activities
  • familiarize with activities and programs in the Newkirk Alumni Center and UCI Alumni Association
  • maintain professionalism, tact, and confidentiality in communications
  • ensure events align with UCI's mission and enhance the university's reputation
