Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • valid lawful driver license for Coordinator I position
  • 1 year of recreational program management experience for Coordinator II position
  • 3 years of recreational program management experience for Coordinator III position
  • successful completion of drug screen and criminal background check
  • ability to handle public requests and complaints professionally
  • ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • event coordination and planning experience
  • social media marketing experience
  • recreational program management experience
  • NRPA Parks and Recreation Professional Certificate (for senior level)
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate special community events such as New Year’s Countdown, Pioneer Day Celebration, and Halloween Carnival
  • develop and implement marketing strategies for events and the Recreation Center
  • manage digital and traditional marketing campaigns including social media content creation
  • collaborate with local businesses and city departments to arrange sponsorships and procure materials
  • oversee part-time staff and volunteers in event programming
  • track and manage event budgets and recommend adjustments
  • evaluate program effectiveness and community engagement
