Job Description
The organization is seeking highly organized and proactive candidates based in South Florida for the position of Statewide Special Event Manager. This role is crucial in developing and implementing effective event planning processes as well as the execution of various events across the state. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in event planning or related fields
- Minimum of five years experience in planning and implementing special events
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in event management software
- Ability to produce accurate content under tight deadlines
- Experience working with vendors and negotiating contracts
- Ability to train and manage volunteers
- Strong client service skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team oriented environment
- Knowledge of nonprofit sector missions and programs preferred
- Commitment to representing the agency positively
- Willingness to abide by agency and state policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business event management communications public relations or equivalent of five years experience in planning and implementing special events preferably for a nonprofit event planning PR advertising or like fields
- Proficiency in event management software
Job Duties
- Provide day-to-day event planning preparation and project management for multiple events that may be happening simultaneously throughout the year across the state
- Oversee the creation maintenance and accuracy of online components as well as external sources when appropriate including registration forms event web pages database etc
- Create manage and report on event budgets collect registrations sponsorships and invoices manage logistical elements including all necessary event permits
- Produce error-free written content quickly accurately and on tight deadlines
- Work closely with Development team to ensure all event messages are executed in accordance with the event promotional calendar
- Accountability to ensure profitable and well attended events
- Actively seek opportunities to take a leadership role in the execution of improving the event planning process and attendee experience
- Coordinate and collaborate with vendors or volunteers to execute logistics for all fundraising events
- Prepare and maintain fundraising materials and presentations as well as event collateral and marketing material
- Train volunteers and manage assignments on-site during event act as volunteer liaison
- Assist in the development of an annual organizational budget
- Work collaboratively as part of a team
- Demonstrate exceptional client service skills and enjoy working with the public
- Maintain a working knowledge of Epilepsy Alliance Floridas mission and programs
- Participate in fundraising activities staff and department meetings
- Abide by all agency and state policies procedures and mandates
- Perform any other related duties as assigned
- Always represent the agency in a positive manner
- Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor
