Job Requirements

  • six months experience in event planning
  • strong communications skills both written and verbal
  • excellent organizational skills
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • familiarity with multiple social media platforms
  • valid driver's license
  • reliable transportation
  • willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends

Job Duties

  • perform light office work
  • assist the Special Events Manager with day-to-day operations
  • assist in setup, operation and teardown of events
  • interact with event attendees in a friendly, engaging manner
  • assist in identifying sponsorships for events and programs
  • assist in creating new events
  • serve as vendor liaison and coordinator
  • work closely with parks maintenance to ensure cooperation for events
  • coordinate promotion of activities and recruitment of participants for volunteer efforts and department-wide ventures
  • perform other duties as assigned
