The City of Kansas City, Missouri, is seeking a dedicated and professional individual for a full-time position within the Conventions and Entertainment Facilities Department, specifically in the Sales Division. Job Qualifications

  • an accredited bachelor’s degree in hospitality, event management, public relations, or marketing
  • one year of experience in sales, marketing, supervising event operations, event coordination, logistics, or arena/convention management
  • high school graduation and five years of experience in relevant fields
  • preference given for a minimum of three years of hospitality and/or convention sales experience

Job Duties

  • sell event space and special engagement opportunities within an 18-month booking window
  • manage client relationships by guiding customers through the planning and booking process from inquiry to event execution
  • collaborate with clients and internal departments to ensure successful coordination and delivery of events
  • support the sales director by assisting with special projects, contract preparation, office workflow, and event-related correspondence
  • coordinate and process contracts, documents, and communications for events
  • develop and maintain relationships with industry partners, non-profit organizations, and corporate clients
  • generate new business by networking and prospecting for weddings, social events, meetings, and private events
  • identify and pursue new sales leads to build future booking opportunities
  • promote facility offerings to maximize event bookings and revenue
