Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of Baker Audio Phone/Radio System
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure during stressful times
  • Understanding of emergency medical terminology and Fire/Rescue radio codes and signals
  • Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations and FAA regulations for EMS
  • Fundamental working knowledge of UHF/VHF radio equipment and radio recording devices
  • Basic computer skills and ability to operate multiple phone lines
  • Current Florida EMT Certification or Paramedic License or NREMT certification or Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification with one year experience
  • Must convert NREMT Certification to State of Florida Licensure within required timeframe

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Fundamental knowledge of Baker Audio Phone/Radio System
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure during stressful situations
  • Understanding of emergency medical terminology and Fire/Rescue radio codes
  • Knowledge of FCC and FAA regulations related to EMS
  • Basic computer skills including operation of multiple phone lines
  • Current Florida EMT Certification or Florida Paramedic License or NREMT Certification
  • Alternatively, current Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification or Public Safety Telecommunicator certification with one year of EMD experience

Job Duties

  • Monitor EMS communications to ensure clear and effective transmission
  • Provide safe launching and flight following of TraumaOne and other helicopters using the helipad
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of all radio communications
  • Operate and troubleshoot Baker Audio Phone and Radio Systems
  • Coordinate with emergency medical teams and hospital staff to facilitate prompt responses
  • Adhere to FCC and FAA regulations governing EMS communications
  • Assist in updating and maintaining EMS communication protocols and procedures
