Job Requirements
- Associate's degree in food preparation, management, nutrition, or related field
- Four years of progressive experience in fine dining, high volume food production, or catering
- Ability to interact positively with supervisors, management, coworkers, members, and the public
- Ability to produce high volume of accurate, complete, and quality work
- Ability to come to work regularly and on time
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment under pressure
- Legal authorization to work in jurisdiction
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree with concentration in food preparation, management, nutrition, or related field
- Four years of progressive experience in fine dining, high volume food production, or catering
- Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with supervisors, management, coworkers, and guests
- Ability to produce high quality work accurately and timely
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and accident prevention principles
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude
Job Duties
- Develop menus, food purchase specifications, and recipes
- Supervise, direct, and develop kitchen staff including stewards
- Develop and monitor food and labor budgets
- Maintain highest professional food quality and sanitation standards
- Ensure safe working environment and adherence to safety protocols
- Inspect food preparation and service areas for quality and cleanliness
- Coordinate training programs for kitchen and production staff
- Assist in special event menu planning and operational reporting
- Approve requisition of food products and supplies
- Control food and payroll costs to maximize profitability
- Evaluate food products for quality standards
- Interact with food and beverage management to exceed guest expectations
- Establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules
- Perform special projects and participate in committees as assigned
- Write shift reports and respond to guest requests and concerns
