Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- demonstrate proficiency in both the English and Spanish languages
- familiarity with medical terminology preferred
- previous interpretation or translation experience preferred
- obtain Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers within 30 days of employment
- successfully pass Spanish proficiency testing defined by Cook Children’s Health Care System before employment
- ability to train at Fort Worth Medical Center for 4 to 6 weeks before starting at Prosper Medical Center
Job Qualifications

- ability to work flexible schedules as required
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- BLS certification for health care providers required within 30 days of employment
Job Duties
- Provide accurate and professional Spanish interpretation during face-to-face encounters
- act as a language liaison between patients, guardians, and health care staff in support of medical plans
- facilitate access to interpreter services for non-Spanish languages via phone or video remote interpreting
- assist in emergency and inpatient care communications
- maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant health care guidelines
- participate in ongoing language proficiency and medical terminology development
- complete all required training including BLS certification
