Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year relative receptionist or customer service or hospitality experience preferred
  • Knowledge of fitness, aquatics, salon, and spa standards a plus
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Must be able to calculate discounts and percentages
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memorandums
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively with team members and supervisors about job tasks and responsibilities
  • Desire to contribute to a productive work environment by maintaining a positive attitude with team members and the public
  • Must be self-motivated, follow direction, and able to work independently with little supervision
  • Must demonstrate initiative with an ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment
  • Must have good time management, organization, and follow-up skills
  • Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness is expected
  • Must be able to pay attention to multiple details and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected
  • This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome members and guests in an energetic and friendly fashion according to BlueStar protocol via phone or onsite
  • Respond to requests and direct calls to staff members and relay messages
  • Schedule reservations for personal training sessions or fitness programs
  • Maintain daily standard operating procedures for the opening and closing of the Spa & Fitness Center including a walk through the center for general inspection to assure it is neat, clean, set up properly, and meets Club standards
  • Monitor Club and fitness rules to ensure they are being enforced
  • Be aware of the daily calendar for Club and fitness activities and respond to fitness related questions
  • Enter member profiles and conduct member orientation for equipment use
  • Sell retail and fitness passes
  • Handle cash and card transactions ensuring charges are accurate and return correct change to guests
  • Report maintenance and safety issues to a supervisor or maintenance staff
  • Become knowledgeable about facility services and programs to encourage members and guests to dine in the restaurants and participate in spa, salon, and fitness services
  • Fold guest towels as needed
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned
