Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in spa or luxury hospitality
  • Proven ability to manage spa operations and P&L
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and safety standards
  • Familiarity with spa POS and scheduling software
  • Excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of leadership experience in a spa, wellness center, or luxury hospitality environment
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or manager role
  • Strong financial acumen with proven experience managing profit and loss and meeting revenue and profit targets
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading teams in a high-touch guest environment
  • Knowledge of spa software, point of sale systems, inventory control, and scheduling platforms
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence across departments
  • Experience in a luxury resort or hotel spa, ideally in wine country or similar leisure destination is preferred
  • Background as a licensed therapist or esthetician is a plus but not required
  • Familiarity with Napa Valley market and luxury traveler expectations is preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee daily spa operations including front desk, locker rooms, treatment rooms, and relaxation areas to ensure smooth, consistent service delivery
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures for all spa services, guest journeys, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in compliance with state and local regulations
  • Manage scheduling to optimize therapist productivity, guest demand, and labor costs
  • Ensure all licenses, certifications, and inspections are current and compliant
  • Own the spa profit and loss: forecast, budget, and deliver revenue, gross operating profit, and flow-through targets
  • Optimize treatment mix, pricing, and promotions based on demand patterns, competitive set, and guest feedback
  • Drive retail strategy including product curation, merchandising, inventory, and shrink management to maximize retail capture and average retail per guest
  • Analyze daily and weekly KPIs such as treatment utilization, therapist productivity, revenue per available treatment hour, retail per ticket, payroll percentage, and cost of goods sold, and adjust operations accordingly
  • Curate a Napa-specific wellness experience leveraging local ingredients, terroir, and seasonality in treatments and retail products
  • Ensure consistent luxury service standards with personalized greetings, consultative treatment recommendations, and warm handoffs to other resort outlets
  • Monitor guest feedback channels including post-stay surveys, online reviews, and in-stay feedback, and drive action plans to sustain top-tier satisfaction scores
  • Partner with Marketing and Revenue teams to create packages, promotions, and content highlighting spa and wellness offerings such as spa plus tasting menus and couple retreats
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing spa team including therapists, estheticians, attendants, front desk staff, and supervisors
  • Implement ongoing product and treatment training in partnership with vendors and internal trainers
  • Foster a culture of accountability, wellness, and hospitality by conducting regular 1-on-1 meetings and performance reviews aligned with KPIs
  • Create and manage incentive programs for upselling, cross-selling, and retail performance while maintaining service integrity
  • Collaborate closely with Rooms, Food and Beverage, Sales and Events, and Revenue teams to integrate spa into group offerings such as retreats, weddings, and corporate programs
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Housekeeping to maintain spa facilities at luxury standards and minimize downtime
  • Provide accurate and timely information to Sales for proposals, site inspections, and VIP itineraries
