Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Minimum 3 years of experience in similar supervisory role in upscale banquet, hotel or convention center
- Serve Safe certification
- Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects
- Good sense of taste and smell
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to coach and train employees
- Ability to maintain high level of concentration and multi-task
- Physical ability to perform repetitive movements and bend, stretch, twist
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Must provide excellent customer service
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Minimum of 3 years in similar position in an upscale banquet, hotel or convention center setting with supervisory experience
- Technical proficiency and knowledge of food preparation methods
- Ability to positively interact with diverse personalities with active listening and communication skills
- Ability to develop results-oriented staff through training, evaluation, motivation, coaching and counseling
- Ability to distribute responsibility to meet objectives and achieve results
- Strong problem-solving ability with initiative and solid decision-making skills
- Ability to be detail-oriented, multi-task and prioritize in a changing environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends and long hours
- Must be Serve Safe certified
- Knowledge of US Foods Menu Profit Pro is a plus
Job Duties
- Supervises all line set-up, prep and breakdown activities
- Responsible for in-service delegation of tasks to line personnel
- Supervises all buffet, beverage, break, and carving table set-up and breakdown
- Assists Executive Chef with kitchen record keeping, food inventories and ordering
- Organizes employee work schedules ensuring appropriate coverage
- Measures, mixes and cooks ingredients according to recipes
- Maintains a clean kitchen ensuring no food debris on all surfaces
- Provides ongoing assistance, training and mentoring to kitchen staff
- Ensures quality, consistency and concept are maintained in food preparation
- Monitors food appearance, temperature, sanitary and quality standards
- Monitors events, materials and surroundings
- Guides, directs and motivates kitchen employees
- Ensures all food safety standards are followed
- Communicates with supervisors, peers and subordinates
- Makes decisions and solves problems organizing and prioritizing work
- Documents and records all personnel discipline information
- Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Chef
