Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar supervisory role in banquet, hotel, or convention center settings
  • Serve Safe certification
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and long hours
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive hand movements
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities
  • Detail oriented and able to multitask effectively
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing event-driven schedules
  • Ability to maintain high kitchen sanitation and food safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar position in an upscale banquet, hotel, or convention center setting with supervisory experience
  • Technical proficiency and knowledge of food preparation methods
  • Effective interpersonal skills with active listening and communication abilities
  • Skilled in staff training, evaluation, motivation, coaching, and counseling
  • Ability to distribute responsibilities to meet objectives
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Self-directed while working within a team
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and long hours
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods
  • Clear verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform fast, repetitive movements
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, and lift heavy objects
  • Good sense of taste and smell
  • Serve Safe certification
  • Proficient with computer software including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Knowledge of US Foods Menu Profit Pro is a plus

Job Duties

  • Supervises all line set-up, prep, and breakdown activities
  • Supervises buffet, beverage, break, and carving table set-up and breakdown
  • Assists Executive Chef with kitchen record keeping and food inventory ordering
  • Organizes employee work schedules and ensures appropriate coverage
  • Measures, mixes, and cooks ingredients according to recipes
  • Maintains a clean kitchen environment with no food debris
  • Provides ongoing assistance, training, and mentoring to kitchen staff
  • Monitors food preparation for quality, consistency, and kitchen timings
  • Ensures food safety standards are strictly followed
  • Communicates with supervisors, peers, and subordinates
  • Makes decisions and solves problems
  • Documents all personnel discipline information
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Chef
