Job Requirements

  • 3 plus years of experience as Sous Chef in a similar volume-based business
  • ability to demonstrate discretion and leadership in complex employee relations matters
  • strong computer skills
  • experience with Microsoft Office, events catering software, timekeeping scheduling systems, and point-of-sale systems
  • demonstrated experience collaborating and communicating across all levels of an organization
  • strong communication skills
  • able to understand, speak and follow written and verbal instruction in English
  • must be able to obtain manager food safety certifications
  • flexible and dependable to work full-time day or night shifts, weekends and holidays, up to 50 hours per week
  • culinary degree preferred
  • able to maneuver all areas of the kitchen including food and beverage areas
  • able to taste and differentiate between flavors and aromas
  • requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • able to tolerate varying levels of stress, temperature, illumination, air quality and fatigue
  • sufficient mobility to perform tasks including reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods
  • able to lift, push, pull approximately 25lbs
  • able to stand and or walk for up to 10 hours during a single shift while navigating ramps, stairs, and elevators

Job Qualifications

  • 3 plus years of experience working as Sous Chef in a similar volume-based business
  • strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems
  • demonstrated experience in leadership and complex employee relations
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • culinary degree preferred
  • ability to obtain manager food safety certifications
  • experience collaborating and communicating across all organizational levels

Job Duties

  • Maintain the highest quality and standards in daily kitchen operations
  • oversee production, operation, safety, and sanitation within the kitchen
  • manage and support kitchen staff
  • ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations
  • assist in menu planning and execution
  • collaborate with Executive Chef and other team members
  • monitor inventory and ordering of kitchen supplies
