Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a supervisory role
  • knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
  • availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to stand for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • excellent culinary skills with knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation
  • ability to maintain food quality and safety standards
  • effective communication and problem-solving abilities
  • experience with inventory and kitchen record keeping
  • culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Train and mentor kitchen team members in best practices from plate presentation to daily prep
  • lead kitchen operations in the Executive Chef's absence ensuring smooth service and food quality
  • ensure every dish meets high standards for quality and consistency
  • maintain open communication and provide feedback, coaching, and discipline when necessary
  • resolve kitchen issues quickly to keep service flawless
  • assist in setting culinary goals and standards to enhance reputation and profitability
  • participate in inventory management, team meetings, and keep records like roast charts and recipe cards up to date
