Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a supervisory role
- knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
- availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- strong organizational skills
- ability to stand for long periods
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen
- strong leadership and team management skills
- excellent culinary skills with knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation
- ability to maintain food quality and safety standards
- effective communication and problem-solving abilities
- experience with inventory and kitchen record keeping
- culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
Job Duties
- Train and mentor kitchen team members in best practices from plate presentation to daily prep
- lead kitchen operations in the Executive Chef's absence ensuring smooth service and food quality
- ensure every dish meets high standards for quality and consistency
- maintain open communication and provide feedback, coaching, and discipline when necessary
- resolve kitchen issues quickly to keep service flawless
- assist in setting culinary goals and standards to enhance reputation and profitability
- participate in inventory management, team meetings, and keep records like roast charts and recipe cards up to date
