Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years high-volume cooking experience
  • Experience in fine dining cuisine
  • Knowledge of food safety standards
  • Strong communication and training skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to stand for long periods
  • Adherence to grooming and uniform policies
  • Availability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • Possess basic reading, writing, mathematical, and computer skills
  • Ability to read and follow recipes
  • At least 2 years of high-volume cooking experience
  • Extensive knowledge in fine dining restaurant service
  • Food safety knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for culinary training
  • Ability to be a self-starter with strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of back of house operations
  • Ability to supervise others

Job Duties

  • Perform advanced food preparation in a fine dining restaurant
  • Supervise kitchen staff in the absence of executive chefs
  • Provide management and support to ensure efficiency in daily kitchen operations
  • Train, develop, and motivate staff to meet established food preparation standards
  • Maintain quality of food preparation and presentation
  • Troubleshoot unexpected kitchen situations
  • Manage food cost control and inventory
  • Discuss daily food cost reports with key staff
  • Ensure proper maintenance and functioning of kitchen equipment
  • Coordinate with support departments for goods and services acquisition
  • Schedule sufficient staffing levels to meet business demands
  • Enforce all safety procedures for kitchen and food service areas
  • Maintain high level of kitchen cleanliness
  • Provide leadership and create a positive work environment
  • Counsel employees and demonstrate professional management
  • Delegate responsibilities to develop subordinates
  • Display loyalty, dedication, confidentiality, and cooperation as part of management
  • Accept and complete projects assigned by executive chefs
  • Maintain grooming and uniform standards
