Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years experience in a commercial cooking environment preferred
- Education or training in kitchen management and cooking techniques
- Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds
- Must pass health screen, TB test, Hepatitis A vaccination, motor vehicle check, Family Care Safety Registry record check and criminal background check via fingerprinting
- Able to work Monday through Friday for six months in a temporary full-time position
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years experience in a commercial cooking environment preferred
- Education or training in kitchen management and cooking techniques
- Knowledge of cooking and children’s dietary health
- Ability to interact fully with children and teachers
- Basic math skills
- Demonstrates values of trust, empathy, love, compassion, and joy
Job Duties
- Create, prepare and cook meals according to guidelines established by Missouri Eat Smart, Let's Move, ServSafe, CACFP - Child and Adult Care Food Program
- Create, prepare and cook meals for special events as requested
- Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment including slicers, ovens, broilers, food processors and dishwashing machinery
- Assist in preparation of weekly menus
- Help the Kitchen Manager in tracking inventories and determining food and supply needs including quantities
- Place delivered food orders or make trips to grocery stores and other retailers as requested
- Maintain high standards of sanitation, safety, and food service techniques in accordance with licensing standards and health department requirements
