Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior culinary or kitchen experience preferred
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • strong communication skills
  • physical stamina for kitchen work
  • ability to follow health and safety regulations
  • commitment to quality and team collaboration

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience
  • prior experience in a sous chef or similar leadership culinary role
  • strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
  • excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • ability to manage kitchen staff effectively
  • creative culinary skills for menu development
  • familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Assist Executive Chef when Executive Chef is present
  • act on behalf of Executive Chef when Executive Chef is absent in organizing, training and employee management
  • assist Executive Chef to prepare necessary data for applicable parts of the budget
  • project annual food, labor and other costs and monitor actual financial results
  • take corrective action as necessary to help assure that financial goals are met
  • regularly create unique dishes and menu items for daily features and specialty events
  • consult with guests to meet dietary restrictions and palate preferences
