Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years culinary experience preferably in a similar role
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Physical stamina to handle kitchen demands
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a fine dining environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage kitchen staff and coordinate food preparation
- Knowledge of budgeting and cost control
- Creativity in menu development
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
Job Duties
- Assist Executive Chef when Executive Chef is present and act on behalf of Executive Chef when absent in organizing training and employee management
- Assist Executive Chef to prepare necessary data for budgeting including projecting annual food labor and other costs and monitor financial results taking corrective actions as necessary
- Regularly create unique dishes and menu items for daily features and specialty events
- Consult with guests to meet dietary restrictions and palate preferences
- Oversee daily kitchen operations ensuring food quality and safety standards are met
- Train and mentor kitchen staff
- Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
