Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years culinary experience preferably in a similar role
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Physical stamina to handle kitchen demands
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a fine dining environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage kitchen staff and coordinate food preparation
  • Knowledge of budgeting and cost control
  • Creativity in menu development
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations

Job Duties

  • Assist Executive Chef when Executive Chef is present and act on behalf of Executive Chef when absent in organizing training and employee management
  • Assist Executive Chef to prepare necessary data for budgeting including projecting annual food labor and other costs and monitor financial results taking corrective actions as necessary
  • Regularly create unique dishes and menu items for daily features and specialty events
  • Consult with guests to meet dietary restrictions and palate preferences
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations ensuring food quality and safety standards are met
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
