Job Requirements

  • Education from a reputable culinary arts program
  • Minimum five years of sous chef experience
  • Certification in food safety regulations
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team

  • Experience working in fast-paced hospitality environments

Job Qualifications

  • Five plus years of experience as a Sous Chef, preferably in a polished casual or fine dining restaurant
  • Certified in Department of Health food protection
  • Degree from a prestigious postsecondary culinary arts training program
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly developed knowledge of various culinary styles
  • Experience staging with multiple celebrity or renowned chefs
  • Creative and efficient use of ingredients
  • Professional and polished leadership approach
  • Ability to manage entire kitchen operations
  • Effective interpersonal skills with customers and employees
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Fluent in English, additional language skills preferred
  • Strong communication skills including reading, writing, and speaking effectively

Job Duties

  • Serve as a mentor and leader who assigns tasks, hires, and develops staff
  • Partner with manager to implement contemporary culinary trends and initiatives
  • Collaborate with Restaurant Leadership to create menus for special events
  • Ensure effective communication with co-workers alongside the Restaurant Leadership team
  • Motivate staff to continually improve and exceed customer experience
