Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience as a Sous Chef in a high volume restaurant preferred
  • Must possess a Food Handler Safety Training Card
  • Knowledge of food health and safety regulations
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations and supervise staff
  • Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to make quick decisions under pressure
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance
  • Acceptable physical and mental stamina to work extended periods
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a positive and respectful work environment

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Sous Chef in a high volume restaurant preferred
  • Prior kitchen management experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a Food Handler Safety Training Card
  • Knowledge of food health and safety regulations
  • Knowledge of menu and resource planning for high end restaurants
  • Knowledge of seasonal ingredients and recipes
  • Knowledge of flavor conformity and palatability of dishes
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with business contacts
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations and supervise staff

Job Duties

  • Assist Executive Chef to plan, direct, oversee the restaurant's kitchen operations and kitchen staff
  • Assist Executive Chef to develop menus and create specialty dishes and recipes
  • Monitor food preparation to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and highest standards
  • Assist Executive Chef with cooking procedures and kitchen operations to improve efficiency and guest experience
  • Train and educate kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking methods, and operational changes
  • Assist Executive Chef with scheduling, interviewing, managing, and disciplining kitchen staff
  • Ensure compliance with health codes, food cost management, vendor contracts, and kitchen sanitation
  • Monitor food storage, cooking methods, and timely service to comply with food safety standards
  • Track financial aspects including invoices, revenue, labor, and budget targets
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate repairs
  • Provide excellent guest service and professionally resolve complaints
  • Promote restaurant through social media engagement and digital marketing
  • Create and share social media posts
  • Engage with customer review sites
  • Assist Executive Chef to maintain necessary permits and licenses
  • Ensure compliance with legal, health, and safety regulations
  • Administer human resources functions and maintain employee records
  • Validate employee certifications and coordinate government agency inquiries
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested
