Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience as a sous chef or similar culinary leadership role
- Availability to work full-time including weekends, holidays and varied shifts
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing operational needs
Job Qualifications
- Experience in a similar culinary leadership role
- Knowledge of food preparation, safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Creative menu planning experience
- Familiarity with banquet and event catering
- Understanding of cost control and inventory management
Job Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef in the direction and oversight of all culinary operations including preparation and production of all hotel meals, food quality and presentation, compliance with safety and sanitation standards, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures, cost controls and profitability
- Create and implement menu selections for special banquet themes and events based on current food trends and regional tastes in partnership with the Executive Chef and Director of Food and Beverage
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards
- Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance including providing supervision, conducting counseling, assisting with evaluations, training, scheduling and assigning work and delivering recognition and rewards
