Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years of experience in kitchen operations or related area
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Versatile cooking skills with knowledge of various cuisines and presentation styles
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail in food preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency and quality
- Resilience and adaptability under pressure
Job Duties
- Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen employees, and assist with hiring
- Ensure all food is prepared according to standards for taste, quality, and portion size
- Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and managing the kitchen's daily operations
- Help with inventory counts, food cost tracking, ordering supplies, and managing invoices
- Enforce health and safety standards and train staff on proper protocols
- Step in to manage the kitchen entirely during the Food Service Manager's absence
