Job Requirements

  • Education or experience in culinary field
  • 1-3 years of relevant culinary experience
  • Food handler certification preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Must be reliable and detail oriented

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years culinary experience
  • Diploma or degree in culinary field preferred
  • Food handler and ServSafe certifications preferred
  • Strong communication skills verbal and written
  • Knowledge of nutrition, food costing and sourcing
  • Understanding of meal production and planning
  • Ability to lead, instruct and empower volunteer meal groups
  • Knowledge of commercial restaurant equipment
  • Professional, personable, friendly and approachable demeanor
  • Ability to work with diverse personalities

Job Duties

  • Assist the Chef to execute a safe and healthy food service program
  • Manage and enforce all food safety and sanitation requirements and practices
  • Follow established recipes and food serving guidelines to ensure allergy food safety
  • Coordinate and oversee the operation of kitchen areas
  • Provide direction, coordination and supervision to volunteer meal groups
  • Welcome volunteers, complete registration and acknowledge gifts
  • Provide highest quality customer service
  • Serve as primary back-up to Taste of Hope Chef
  • Lead with core values of Collaboration, Gratitude, Integrity, Inclusion, and Joy
  • Work with Chef to utilize donated foods and build vendor relationships
  • Oversee and participate in safe preparation and serving of food
  • Provide allergy-safe alternative meals
  • Maintain inventory supply system and minimize waste
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and equipment maintenance of kitchen and dining areas
  • Assign and schedule kitchen and volunteer duties
  • Pursue opportunities for professional development
  • Comply with Ronald McDonald House policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
