Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in similar upscale banquet, hotel or convention center setting
  • Must have state issued Health Certificate and immunizations
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends
  • Must be Serve Safe certified
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Physical capacity to lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Proficient with computer software including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and high kitchen standards
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task
  • Must have a good sense of taste and smell
  • Strong leadership and mentorship abilities
  • Able to make fast, repeated hand and wrist movements
  • Willingness to work a variable event-driven schedule

Job Qualifications

  • Self-directed while working in team environment
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends and long hours
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Clear communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform kitchen duties including lifting and repetitive motions
  • Serve Safe certification
  • Proficiency in computer software such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of US Foods Menu Profit Pro is a plus.

Job Duties

  • Supervises all line set-up, prep and breakdown activities
  • Responsible for in-service delegation of tasks to line personnel
  • Supervises all buffet, beverage, break, and carving table set-up and breakdown
  • Assists Executive Chef with kitchen record keeping and food inventories
  • Organizes employee work schedules ensuring appropriate coverage
  • Measures, mixes, and cooks ingredients according to recipes
  • Maintains a clean kitchen and food production areas
  • Provides ongoing training, mentoring and assistance to kitchen staff
  • Ensures food quality, consistency, portion control and timing
  • Monitors events, materials, and surroundings
  • Guides, directs and motivates kitchen employees
  • Ensures all food safety standards are followed
  • Communicates with supervisors, peers and subordinates
  • Makes decisions and solves problems
  • Organizes, plans and prioritizes work
  • Documents and records personnel discipline
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Chef.
