Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in similar setting
- Valid State Health Certificate
- Serve Safe certification
- Ability to work flexible event-driven schedule including nights and weekends
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Proficiency in basic computer applications
- Ability to train and mentor staff
- Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Ability to handle manual kitchen duties
- Willingness to work extended hours and holidays
- Good sense of taste and smell
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Minimum of 3 years in a similar supervisory position in upscale banquet, hotel or convention center settings
- State issued Health Certificate and required immunizations
- Demonstrated technical proficiency and knowledge of food preparation methods
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact positively with diverse personalities
- Skilled in staff training, coaching, evaluation and development
- Ability to manage responsibilities, set priorities and make sound decisions
- Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task effectively in a dynamic environment
- Self-directed with a team-oriented work approach
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends and long hours
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive movements
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Serve Safe certification
- Proficiency in computer software including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to supervise, coach and train employees
- Knowledge of health and safety standards for patrons and staff
- Ability to maintain high concentration and endurance
Job Duties
- Supervise all line set-up, prep and breakdown activities
- Delegate tasks to line personnel during service
- Supervise buffet, beverage, break, and carving table set-up and breakdown
- Assist Executive Chef with kitchen record keeping and food inventories
- Organize employee work schedules ensuring coverage
- Measure, mix and cook ingredients according to recipes
- Maintain a clean kitchen with no food debris in all areas
- Provide ongoing training, mentoring and support to kitchen staff
- Monitor food preparation quality, portion controls and kitchen timings
- Ensure all food safety standards are followed
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers and subordinates
- Make decisions and solve problems related to kitchen operations
- Document personnel discipline and collaborate with Human Resources
- Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Chef
