Job Requirements

  • Associates degree in culinary arts or culinary arts certification preferred
  • 1-3 years experience as a chef or sous chef required
  • Minimum 7 years experience as a cook required
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to work fast paced and deadline driven environment
  • Strong leadership skills required
  • Ability to train employees
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must complete ServSafe certification
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
  • Able to stand and work long shifts
  • Ability to travel up to 25 percent
  • Must follow company policies and procedures
  • Experience in high volume food production or catering preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Culinary Arts or Culinary Arts certification preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience as a Chef or Sous Chef
  • Minimum 7 years experience as a cook
  • Previous supervisory experience in high volume food production or catering preferred
  • In-flight catering or high volume food service experience preferred
  • Ability to cook meals to detailed specifications
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work in fast paced, deadline driven environments
  • Experience with labor relations a plus
  • Ability to train and provide feedback
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Innovative mindset with operational improvement skills
  • Menu design experience a plus
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Microsoft Office proficiency preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus

Job Duties

  • Ensure food specifications and labor objectives meet company and customer requirements
  • Supervise department quality and quantity
  • Ensure production items are produced and dated according to specifications and comply with FDA, USDA, HAACP and other regulations
  • Manage attendance, paperwork, shift setups, and employee assignments to optimize schedules
  • Order raw materials and produce extra meals as needed
  • Prepare daily production sheets and assign tasks
  • Train employees on proper preparation procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and enforce safety procedures
  • Manage daily hot and cold kitchen production for quality and consistency
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour policies including breaks
  • Train and monitor employees for productivity and cost control
  • Schedule employees and manage manpower planning
  • Coach, counsel, and administer corrective actions in compliance with union agreements
  • Verify employee job titles and cost centers
  • Ensure correct pay rates based on wage scales and seniority
  • Complete required company training including ServSafe
  • Maintain adherence to company policies and procedures
