Job Requirements

  • Five years of applicable foodservice experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge
  • Associate’s degree in culinary arts or a related field from a regionally accredited institution with two years of foodservice experience
  • Leadership and managerial abilities including excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Understanding and commitment to equal access and equal opportunity
  • American Culinary Federation (ACF) Certified or Certifiable as a Certified Culinarian or higher (CC or CPC)
  • Commitment to the mission of the comprehensive two-year college and its role in community development
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on first day of employment
  • Successful completion of criminal background check, motor vehicle report check, and sex offender registry check

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Preparing and coordinating menus for daily food service at multiple campus locations including catering events
  • Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety
  • Work flexible hours including night and weekend shifts to accommodate events
  • Ensure proper event setups and preparation of event/banquet staff
  • Supervise and train kitchen team members on food preparation, presentation, and foodservice operations
  • Monitor food quality and ensure recipes are properly executed
  • Write schedules, evaluate and direct team members including work-study and practicum students
  • Maintain open verbal and written communication between management and staff
  • Address kitchen problems promptly and document disciplinary actions
  • Monitor and control food and labor costs for efficient service delivery
  • Complete weekly inventories and maintain compliance records
  • Order ingredients and supplies necessary for operations
  • Maintain kitchen and service equipment and ensure repairs
  • Oversee menu and pricing management for POS systems including checkout procedures
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to cater special events
  • Maintain required certifications such as ServSafe Manager and ACF credentials
  • Coordinate with Facilities, IT, and other departments for hospitality services and post-event cleanup
  • Assist the Director of Campus Dining in growing and maintaining the reputation of CAHMI and UA-PTC
  • Promote the mission of University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
