Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • culinary arts courses, certifications or related degree preferred
  • two to four years experience supervising or managing kitchen staff in a high-volume kitchen

Job Duties

  • Control the day-to-day culinary operations within company policies and guidelines
  • maintain a professional company image including kitchen cleanliness and appearance standards
  • maintain updated and accurate costing and documentation of dishes
  • establish inventory procedures and determine stock levels
  • ensure security and proper storage of kitchen inventory and equipment
  • maintain proper operational condition and cleanliness of all kitchen equipment
  • resolve employee conflicts and customer issues
  • manage staff during busy shifts and ensure timely task completion
  • interact courteously with guests to resolve service concerns
  • ensure consistent product and service quality standards
  • control food costs through ordering, inventory, and financial review
  • communicate cooking standards and methods clearly to staff and customers
  • ensure a safe working environment to reduce accidents
  • maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness in compliance with health standards
  • create and manage work schedules, shipments, and cleaning schedules
  • recruit, interview, hire, supervise, and motivate team members
