Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- culinary arts courses, certifications or related degree preferred
- two to four years experience supervising or managing kitchen staff in a high-volume kitchen
- confidence in cooking skills and abilities

- proven leadership and effective verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties
- Control the day-to-day culinary operations within company policies and guidelines
- maintain a professional company image including kitchen cleanliness and appearance standards
- maintain updated and accurate costing and documentation of dishes
- establish inventory procedures and determine stock levels
- ensure security and proper storage of kitchen inventory and equipment
- maintain proper operational condition and cleanliness of all kitchen equipment
- resolve employee conflicts and customer issues
- manage staff during busy shifts and ensure timely task completion
- interact courteously with guests to resolve service concerns
- ensure consistent product and service quality standards
- control food costs through ordering, inventory, and financial review
- communicate cooking standards and methods clearly to staff and customers
- ensure a safe working environment to reduce accidents
- maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness in compliance with health standards
- create and manage work schedules, shipments, and cleaning schedules
- recruit, interview, hire, supervise, and motivate team members
- train employees continuously
- lead by example and mentor new staff
