Job Requirements

  • associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited culinary program preferred
  • certification as a working chef (CWC) and ServSafe certification preferred
  • minimum 3 years experience in high-volume production cooking required
  • knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to lead, train, and coordinate kitchen staff
  • commitment to safety, sanitation, and quality standards

Job Duties

  • perform a wide variety of tasks and operations to prepare and cook food for patients, employees, visitors, and special functions in accordance with quality, safety, and sanitation standards
  • demonstrate advanced food preparation techniques, planning production and specialty menus
  • prepare entrees, casseroles, and complex dishes with multiple preparation steps
  • maintain logs for taste and temperature to support quality improvement
  • cook specialty and complex items using recipe-specific techniques ensuring quality results
  • exhibit creativity and expertise in presentation and flavor
  • prepare food to meet standards for catering, patient, and satellite programs
  • organize workflow efficiently, coordinating food distribution and portions per order requirements
  • maintain cleanliness and safety of the kitchen environment
  • ensure proper storage, handling, and sanitation of food and equipment
  • supervise and evaluate cooks, assign tasks, and adjust schedules as needed
  • provide instruction and enforce standards, policies, and regulations
  • recommend recipe and cooking improvements, track food production, and ensure quality
  • perform other duties as assigned
