Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen
  • strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • culinary training or ServSafe certification
  • ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak-volume events
  • capability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • tolerance for kitchen heat, noise, and exposure to tobacco smoke
  • teamwork and leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen required
  • previous experience as a lead line cook, kitchen lead, Sous Chef, or similar back-of-house leadership role preferred
  • strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, knife skills, and core cooking techniques required
  • ability to work under pressure, maintain urgency, reinforce standards, and help solve problems in real time
  • culinary training, formal kitchen training, or ServSafe certification is required

Job Duties

  • support the Head Chef in the daily leadership and execution of kitchen operations
  • prepare, cook, and plate menu items to recipe, presentation, and quality standards
  • help direct prep and line staff during service to keep the kitchen organized, efficient, and on pace
  • assist with training, coaching, and reinforcing standards for recipes, plating, sanitation, and kitchen discipline
  • support inventory, prep control, receiving, line checks, and overall station readiness
  • maintain consistency, food quality, cleanliness, and smooth service flow across the kitchen
