Job Requirements
- Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 75 pounds
- Ability to move safely around the kitchen
- Ability to handle food, objects, products, and utensils safely and effectively
- Ability to bend, stoop, stand, and kneel
- Ability to withstand potential climate temperature changes in assigned work area
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Culinary arts courses, certifications, or related degree preferred
- 1-2 years experience supervising or managing kitchen staff in a high-volume kitchen
- Confidence in cooking skills and abilities
- Proven ability to lead a team and communicate efficiently verbally and in writing
- Exceptional time management and organization skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Control and assist with the day-to-day culinary operations of the venue within company policies and guidelines
- Assist with maintaining a professional company image including kitchen cleanliness and proper uniforms
- Uphold consistent product and service standards of the highest quality
- Control and assist with the control of back-of-house food costs through appropriate ordering and inventory management
- Ensure a safe working environment to reduce risk of injury and accidents
- Maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness in compliance with company and health department standards
- Recruit, interview, hire, supervise, motivate, and take disciplinary actions with kitchen staff
- Train employees on an ongoing basis
- Lead by example and mentor new staff
