Job Requirements

  • Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to move safely around the kitchen
  • Ability to handle food, objects, products, and utensils safely and effectively
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stand, and kneel
  • Ability to withstand potential climate temperature changes in assigned work area

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Culinary arts courses, certifications, or related degree preferred
  • 1-2 years experience supervising or managing kitchen staff in a high-volume kitchen
  • Confidence in cooking skills and abilities
  • Proven ability to lead a team and communicate efficiently verbally and in writing
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Control and assist with the day-to-day culinary operations of the venue within company policies and guidelines
  • Assist with maintaining a professional company image including kitchen cleanliness and proper uniforms
  • Uphold consistent product and service standards of the highest quality
  • Control and assist with the control of back-of-house food costs through appropriate ordering and inventory management
  • Ensure a safe working environment to reduce risk of injury and accidents
  • Maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness in compliance with company and health department standards
  • Recruit, interview, hire, supervise, motivate, and take disciplinary actions with kitchen staff
  • Train employees on an ongoing basis
  • Lead by example and mentor new staff
