Job Requirements

  • education to secondary or associate degree level
  • 1-3 years experience as chef or sous chef
  • 7 years experience as a cook
  • ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • strong leadership skills
  • ability to train employees
  • ability to provide constructive feedback
  • excellent time management skills
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • willingness to work rotating schedules over 55 hours per week
  • ability to lift and move over 25 pounds

  • travel up to 25 percent
  • ability to manage and lead a team of up to 40 employees

Job Qualifications

  • associates degree in culinary arts or culinary arts certification preferred
  • minimum 1-3 years experience as a chef or sous chef required
  • minimum 7 years experience as a cook required
  • previous supervisory experience in high volume, manufacturing, food production, restaurant or catering environment preferred
  • in-flight catering experience or experience in high volume food service environment preferred
  • ability to cook meals according to detailed specifications
  • ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • strong and effective leadership skills
  • ability to train others
  • excellent time management and organizational skills
  • strong communication and analytical skills
  • innovative mindset with ability to improve operations
  • experience with menu design is a plus
  • basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
  • servsafe certification preferred
  • excellent written and oral communication skills

Job Duties

  • ensure food specifications and labor objectives meet company and customer requirements
  • supervise department for quality and quantity and ensure items are produced and dated according to specification and coding systems
  • manage attendance, prepare paperwork, set up each shift and assign employees to specified sections
  • order raw materials from storeroom and produce extra meals as needed
  • prepare daily production sheets and assign tasks to employees
  • train and monitor employees on proper food preparation and safety procedures
  • ensure compliance with wage and hour policies including breaks and company processes
