Job Requirements
- Culinary arts degree desired
- five years of experience in culinary arts in an upscale environment
- strong customer service aptitude
- proficiency in English language skills
- good verbal and written communication skills
- ability to prioritize and organize work
- ability to work well under pressure
- physical ability to exert up to 75 pounds and carry up to 30 pounds
- ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Serve Safe, sanitation and HACCP proficiency
- previous leadership experience preferred

- Five years of experience in culinary arts in an upscale restaurant, hotel, resort or club environment
- proficiency in English language skills including speaking, hearing, understanding, reading, and writing

- ability to interact effectively with all associates and guests
- ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations

Job Duties
- Assist in creating and implementing menus
- create descriptions for all written menus
- contribute to research and development
- create daily specials according to resort concepts
- assist in creating menus for various purposes
- order par levels according to mise en place and menu descriptions
- rotate all mise en place daily to ensure 100 percent freshness
- maintain all standards as created for menus
- coordinate and create opening and closing procedures
- develop job descriptions and standard operating procedures to ensure quality and efficiency
- execute all mise en place functions including setup, scheduling, ordering, and receiving
- communicate effectively with peers, management, line and front of the house employees
- conduct and attend meetings including daily communication, service, culinary lineup, chef's meetings, weekly staff meetings, and monthly department meetings
- maintain all sanitation and HACCP documentation in accordance with California and LA County health codes
- ensure superior cleanliness across all food and beverage departments
- guide and support the team to exceed guest satisfaction goals
- schedule weekly labor according to forecast
- manage food, labor, and operational costs effectively
- relieve cooks and chefs for various shifts
- act as an effective listener before taking action
- communicate both popular and unpopular content effectively
- use associate handbook and CoralTree philosophy to coach employees
- create professional working relationships among all resort associates
- motivate associates and maintain a cohesive team
- ensure accurate maintenance of menu and recipe database
- perform related duties as required
- support team learning and teaching
