Job Requirements

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent culinary experience
  • Minimum of two years culinary or kitchen management experience in high-volume foodservice
  • Proven ability to manage catering and special events
  • Knowledgeable in scratch cooking and food cost control techniques
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations including HACCP and allergy protocols
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and internet tools
  • Strong leadership communication and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to maintain high standards of food quality and cleanliness
  • Commitment to customer happiness and nutritious meal preparation

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience
  • Two or more years of culinary or kitchen management experience in high-volume foodservice operations including K-12 institutional or contract dining
  • Strong catering experience and ability to lead special events
  • Knowledge of scratch cooking batch production and food cost controls
  • Understanding of food trends seasonal ingredients and sustainable practices
  • ServSafe certification highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook and internet-based tools
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a strong sense of ownership and collaboration
  • Dedication to customer satisfaction and a passion for crafting nutritious meals for school communities

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations including food preparation and supervision of back-of-house staff
  • Support cost control initiatives by managing inventory ordering and minimizing food waste
  • Plan, develop, and implement menus aligning with culinary standards, student preferences, and nutritional guidelines
  • Lead or support the preparation and execution of catered events ensuring high-quality food presentation and service
  • Implement and support new culinary programs and initiatives with the Executive Chef and corporate team
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines including HACCP and allergy protocols
  • Maintain high standards for food quality cleanliness and kitchen organization
  • Train and mentor hourly culinary staff to promote skill development and positive team culture
  • Foster a safe inclusive and collaborative kitchen environment reflecting school community and company values
